Green Kontakt - Windscreen wipers

Green Kontakt is one of those manufacturers who do not compromise on quality to achieve lower production costs. These high quality wipers are made of natural rubber coated with a specially designed film to allow for a smooth, noise-free glide, which translates into greater friction resistance and longer life. Green Kontakt's production centres are ISO TS-16949 certified, meeting the stringent requirements of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), which enables first fitment supply to car manufacturers.

Green Kontakt wipers are available in 2 versions: conventional metal structure wipers and blade wipers, with sizes from 15" to 28". Conventional windscreen wipers have a metal or metal and plastic structure, connected by a central bridge and hinged links with 4 or 8 pressure points, depending on the length of the rubber blade. The articulated links distribute the force generated by the spring in the wiper arm over the entire length of the rubber blade and thus create a perfect grip on the windscreen.

Steel blade windscreen wipers feature a hinged linkage that has an integrated full-length spoiler to create a perfect grip on the windscreen with the front airflow. This type of wiper has an aerodynamic shape that reduces air noise at higher speeds. What's more, rubber wipers are more discreet than conventional wipers, so they don't block the driver's field of vision.

Quality control

To ensure that Green Kontakt wipers offer a high level of quality, the company uses 3 types of tests:

Ozone resistance test

Rubber parts are prone to ageing. In order to check the quality of the rubber wiper blades, they are tested in the laboratory by exposure to ozone for 72 hours. This simulates the conditions of accelerated ageing of the rubber and allows to determine its resistance over time. At the end of the test the blades showed no signs of ageing and functioned in normal parameters.

Salt spray resistance test

The metal components of the wiper can rust due to corrosive substances. Their resistance is also tested under laboratory conditions by exposing them to salt spray for 144 hours. Due to the material structure and the coating treatment, the wiper arms have retained their appearance and strength.

Endurance test

After the specific verification of each type of material that is used in wiper production, engineers must test the integrity of the structure and determine if the wiper has any weaknesses that need to be addressed. During the endurance test, Green Kontakt checks the structural strength after 150,000 cycles at both low temperatures of - 40°C and high temperatures of + 70°C.
